September 2026 expansion
Added two planning guides: address-document routes and arrival-day connectivity. Added a tax-inclusive 5GB setup-plus-month example; it is not a date-specific quote. Prices are manually checked snapshots, not live feeds.

Passport pickup and activation update — 9 September 2026
Added Mobal physical Voice + Data SIM new-order payment, passport collection and activation routes. These instructions do not cover overseas delivery or every Mobal product. No signup or activation test has been performed.

Editorial revision — 9 September 2026
Reorganised the existing guides around current documents, receipt, activation timing and fallback connectivity. Price snapshots and source dates were retained; this rewrite is not a new provider check or evidence of hands-on use. No new affiliate partnership is claimed.
Source maintenance — 17 October 2026
Rechecked 11 monitored official sources. Removed the earlier Mobal physical SIM discount from the 5GB budgeting example: the current SIM price shown is ¥4,950. Monthly 5GB prices remain ¥3,190 for Mobal and ¥3,278 for Sakura, with setup charges of ¥4,950 and ¥5,500 respectively. These remain manually checked examples, not checkout quotes.
Updated the document guide to match Mobal’s current Voice SIM / eSIM activation-processing scope: 10:00–18:30 JST, with later requests processed from 10:00 the next morning. Voice Lite has a separate schedule. This check did not retest activation, airport counters or third-party SMS acceptance.
